A Rocky Transition Year for Pageant Staff

Updated July 10, 2018

This year is one for change at Miss United States. For years, the exclusive license-holder of the Miss United States pageants has been Crown Garland, LLC with Stephi Williams as the national director. As of July 8, 2018, Stephi Williams and Crown Garland, LLC are no longer a part of the Miss United States pageant system. Instead, Mr. Tony Ilacqua, the son of owner Isabella Ilacqua, will be leading the new direction of the system.

The organization has to go through a major rebranding since everything that was contributed by Stephi Williams and her company can no longer be used due to a pending legal matter. Ilacqua and the new board will work to develop the organization according to their vision for the brand.

The transition is off to a rocky start as the Miss United States pageant website and all of the Miss United States titleholder social media pages have been deleted. With eight newly crowned national titleholders and countless more state and regional titleholders hanging in the balance, this lack of express direction for the organization is concerning.
