The Miss American Royalty USA program is a Christian-based organization that has 16 age divisions. The Preteen division has state representatives that attend the national pageant. This year's pageant will be hosted in Orlando, Florida, from July 19-22, 2018. Some delegates are chosen via a state pageant, whereas some are chosen at-large (possibly because no pageant was held in that respective state). According to the website, the Miss American Royalty USA pageant holds firm to building character, courage, confidence and the desire to make a difference in communities across the country. This would be a great stepping-stone and learning opportunity for the Preteen in your life!

2. National American Miss
National American Miss is one of the largest pageant systems in the country, with its Preteen division being no exception. The age division is for girls 10-12 and has four phases of required competitions that include formal wear, personal introduction, interview and community involvement. One feature that stands out for this system is the no-makeup policy for the Preteen division in an effort to promote positive self-image by focusing on natural beauty both inside and out. If judges can notice makeup, then points will be deducted from the score. The national delegates are chosen at the state level unless there is no state pageant held, in which case a representative can be appointed. The national pageant takes place in November annually in Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California.
