Through this past year, pageantry has become a great opportunity for women, and even men, of all ages. 2016 was a year that lit a spark in the pageant world, especially when it came to helping young women achieve their dreams and become great helping hands in their communities. The preteen age is a time in a young lady's life when she is finding herself, figuring out what some of her goals and dreams are, and when she can help the people around her grow as well. Here are the best pageants this past year that help young women grow in a positive way! Teaching young women how to love others and give back is vital at the preteen age, and the Miss Heart of the USA organization does exactly that. Each pageant that is held by the system is a food drive! That's right, you read it correctly. Their program has distributed over ten million non-perishable food items to date. They also crown two special winners who bring in the most food items to donate. In this system, the girls feel welcome and empowered and are always working towards bettering their communities.

The Pure International Pageant is based on Christian Biblical principles. Although you don't have to be of Christian Faith to compete, the pageant uses their religious principles to help each young woman feel accepted and work towards her own personal growth. Their goal is to make a positive difference in every life they are able to touch. The system still continues to promote helping each individual to become someone unlike anyone else.

Princess of America is a system that always wants to help the next generation of women grow and feel empowered. They help each young women feel confident in herself to feel like she's done her best. They also offer titles to women who have really made a difference in their community and has used her crown and title to help out others. This system is a great opportunity to help young women grow.

Miss Royalty International is a system based off of a loving and fun environment and great community values. One very unique thing about the system is that they make it fun for the whole family. At the preteen age, children really do need their families involved in creating their dreams. Having the support of family and close friends is vital in the teen and preteen age. Miss Royalty International helps involve more than just the contestant in their system and it's truly a great thing to see.

Galaxy Pageants is all about breaking down barriers and separating bad cultural appropriation. At a young age, especially in preteens, it is very important to let the young children know and understand that there are no types of "normal" when it comes to culture, especially in the pageant world. The Galaxy system brings all cultures together to help one another and to build and lift each other up. This is a great system to start in and compete in, even up to the Mrs. division! The Cinderella Pageant system is such a great organization that holds great opportunities for young women. They offer great scholarship opportunities for their contestants and their titleholders. Since their opening of their business 40 years ago, they have awarded millions of dollars in cash to help grow education for women around the world. This is a great opportunity and a great atmosphere, especially for preteens learning what they may want to do with their passion!

"Personal Growth with a Dash of Glitter," what girl wouldn't love that? Miss American Coed is based on empowerment and personal growth... and of course the glitter! This family-oriented pageant system is all about positive growth. Something unique about this system is that they do not allow makeup on ages 13 and under. "We've never had it, and we never will," according to the pageant website. So for the parents out there worried about your pageant-lover competing and not being herself, this would be a great start!

Ranging from ages 4-25, USA National Miss is all about enriching and growing the lives of young woman around the nation and in their communities. This system takes pride in their values of helping others and helping their titleholders help others in their own communities and around the world. Having a big heart, even at a young preteen age, is something so valuable when it comes to wearing your crown and sash. Being a titleholder gives you a chance to be a big positive role model in your community, and USA National Miss wants to help everyone involved in their system do that! International Junior Miss describes themselves as an organization that is like a family. They are always promoting a positive and uplifting environment for their titleholders, contestants and families involved in the organization. They also take a lot of pride in their love for service and helping their titleholders work their talents into their love for their communities. Awarding more than one million dollars each year in scholarship, prizes and cash around the nation each year, National American Miss is where stage lights meet family fun. This pageant system is one of the largest in the nation for young women and continues to grow to this day. They want to help build self-confidence in each one of their contestants and titleholders while helping them gain valuable communication skills and poise throughout their journey.
